Tickets to new season now available!

January 17th, 2008

Our new season at the Woman’s Club Theatre begins on February 2, with five shows between then and April 19. Oh, we have some treasured musical guests. First, we have the excellent Martin Devaney, who already feels like an old friend (it seems like he must have been on the show before, but hasn’t been). On February 16th, we’re joined by Dreamland Faces. Please, just watch this youtube. On March 15th, we’ll be joined by Dark Dark Dark, an incredible sounding plunk-stringed, accordioned, desperately vocalized ensemble. As the season rolls into it’s final stretch, the uncompromising E.L.nO. takes the stage. Have you ever been to a fog-machine filled high school dance in 1979? You’ll soon be there. Mark our words.

It’s going to be an incredible season. Brady Bergeson’s foot has already swollen to three times it’s normal size. The trouble is coming! Click here for all of your ticketing needs (Neighbor tix, Season tix - $45, Individual show tix -$12, Student tix - $8). Brady’s foot is enormous!

Don’t forget to listen to the final shows of the fall season on 89.3 The Current, Sundays 6pm (”Hart to Hart of Darkness,” when fat Herbach sings with squirrels with special guests Mary and JG Everest, and “Apocalypso” documenting the end of Alan Greenspan, with special guests Tay Zonday and the Owls). If you like hearing EARS on the radio, why not drop The Current a note to let them know!

Uh, is that it? I think we’re going to make some salads over here and also some potato vodka.

I can’t wait for the first show!

    Dear Ann,

My life without you these past several weeks since the last season finale has been a blur of America’s Next Top Model and iPhone updates. You think you can’t wait for the first show? Well. I can’t wait for the first show. And since we’ve made it on the air, I’ve been able to afford an intern (he works for free) who will both write and perform all my parts for me! Save me a seat! I can’t wait to see what hilarious hijinks I find myself in come February 2nd!

    Love, Sam.

PS. Wouldn’t it be funny if I spelled HIJINKS like this: HYGENEKS? I’m going to pass this along to my intern. He’s only 12 (going on 17!), but he’s somehow managed to capture my voice splendidly.

Your Feb. 2, 2008 show was a delight. The way you brought rocker Terry Essen (sp?) into was clever and fun and you awed the audience with how you brought back Alan Greenspan for a span. No reduction in Terry’s music, to be sure, but Steph’s Suffer song has got to be a new cult classic, at least for stifled artists. And Herbach really belted his song out, though it was weird, totally Herbach. No wonder he’s so well loved. Brady was humbly apt for his bloated role that night, and Sam, well, the revelation of Sam’s mom, whew, I don’t know what that will do for his love life, it could go either way.
Every one was great, Dave really played some rockin piano, Jen was classic, all the band and sound effects, and I have to add that that Kurt Froehlich, well, Kurt Froehlich, what a guy.
